Curso mis estudios en la Escuela Superior de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales, donde adquiero un profundo conocimiento de los materiales, su comportamiento y envejecimiento; así como de las técnicas artísticas tradicionales, en especial las empleadas en escultura policromada. Porteriormente ingreso en la Facultad de Bellas Artes, donde continúo profundizando en mi formación artística, dando en esta ocasión mayor impulso al desarrollo de la creatividad y la búsqueda de un lenguaje personal. Mi vida laboral se desarrolla en una primera etapa en torno a la Restauración de Bienes Culturales, y una segunda dentro del mundo del diseño editorial y maquetación. PoorWood integra todos los conocimientos y disciplinas artísticas adquiridas con anterioridad.

PoorWood parte de fragmentos de madera recogidos en suelos de montes y playas, siendo en ese sentido completamente respetuosa con el medio, ya que no mutila la planta viva. Esos fragmentos sin valor aparente, cobran nueva vida en forma de piezas únicas de joyería y decoración.

I studied at the School of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, acquiring a thorough understanding of the behaviour and aging of materials as well as traditional artistic techniques, especially those used in polychrome sculpture. Subsequently admitted to the Faculty of Fine Arts, continuing to deepen my artistic training, this time with a greater emphasis on the development of creativity and the search for a personal language. My career initially centred on the restoration of cultural property, and later in the world of editorial design and layout for different publishers. In 2013 I started my personal project of creating the art and craft brand PoorWood, which integrates all the knowledge and artistic disciplines previously acquired.

All PoorWood creations spring from fragments of wood picked up from the floor of mountains an beaches, being in that sense completely respectful with the environment because it does not mutilate the living plant. These apparently worthless fragments take on new life as unique pieces of jewellery and decoration.

Cada pieza Poorwood es única, ya que la morfología de cada fragmento utilizado lo es y cada uno inspira un diseño de pieza distinto. Sin embargo, puedes hacer un pedido que reproduzca esa pieza y personalizarla eligiendo tipo de cordón o cadena, su longitud, o eligiendo color y/o tamaño.

Posteriormente comienzo a trabajar con otros materiales obtenidos en las mismas localizaciones o extraídos de restos abandonados (lapas, piedras de pizarra y fragmentos de vidrio pulidos por el mar, chatarra, clavos antiguos de derribo); siguiendo siempre esa misma filosofía de revalorizar los materiales aplicándoles tratamientos que resalten la belleza intrínseca de los mismos.

Each Poorwood piece is as unique as the morphology of the fragment used, and each one inspires a different design. Nevertheless, you can still place an order to create a similar piece and customize it by choosing the type of cord or chain, length, sizes or colors.

Recenty I have begun incorporating other materials obtained in the same locations or from recycled sources (limpets, slate stones and shards of glass polished by the sea, scrap metal, old nails from demolition sites); always following the same philosophy of enriching the materials by applying treatments that enhance their intrinsic beauty.
